Christine La Cava has worked in the family law area since 1976 and has worked exclusively in that area of practice since 2008. Having studied part-time while working Christine was admitted as a solicitor in 1988, after completing what Christine humorously calls her “bicentennial project”. During a successful fourteen (14) year career with the NSW Attorney General’s Department Christine held roles in Local Courts throughout NSW including as Chamber Magistrate, Clerk of the Court, Registrar and Coroner. Christine entered private practice in 1991 with a Northern Beaches firm.
Over several years, Christine worked part-time in Freshwater and Mona Vale which allowed her to balance caring for her young family and maintaining her practical legal experience. Christine has worked full time exclusively in Family Law on the Northern Beaches for more than ten (10) years.
In 2009 Christine’s expertise and demonstrated proficiency was recognised by the Law Society of New South Wales when she was awarded accreditation as a specialist in Family Law.
Christine’s vast experience, combined with her strong listening and communication skills, sensitive yet practical approach and comforting sense of humour will help make your family law experience as easy as a difficult situation can be.
Christine will help and support you with a full range of family law issues including divorce, complex parenting issues and financial issues. Wherever possible Christine will aim to resolve your matter through a negotiated settlement and formalisation of your agreement in Consent Orders. Christine is also a Collaborative Practice Lawyer.
For those matters that need to go to Court, Christine is experienced in the court process having regularly appeared before Judges and Registrars in both the Family Court of Australia and Federal Circuit Court of Australia.
Christine’s expertise is recognised and respected in the legal community. When she is not at work, Christine enjoys socialising with family and friends both here and overseas, singing and reading.
